Bond is back! From the pages of British newspaper the Daily Express comes the global phenomenon that is James Bond! Ian Fleming’s serialised comic strip novels featuring the world’s greatest secret agent are reprinted here in new Collectors’ Library volumes. These classic stories are brought to the comic strip page by highly talented writer/artists Henry Gammidge, Anthony Hern and John McLusky. Expertly drawn and highly detailed, James Bond’s adventures are a nostalgic trip into the characters past and world. This volume features a special introduction by James Bond actor Roger Moore, an article on the literary history of James Bond post-Ian Fleming, a story checklist, articles looking at adapting the stories from novel to comic strip and two bonus stories Live and Let Die as well as the rarely seen Moonraker.

Every story has a beginning and why not James Bond’s first adventure! In Casino Royale, the story that introduced the world to Bond, our suave secret agent must stop a Russian operative’s illegal operations by ruining him at the baccarat table and therefore forcing his ‘retirement’. James does well, his target on a losing streak, but Bond is soon distracted by a beautiful female agent. Appearances can be deceptive and ultimately she is going to lead our hero on a path to disaster. Is this the end of the road for the world’s greatest secret agent? Together with stories Live and Let Die and Moonraker this is another collection filled with exciting, action-packed adventures that will leave every fan and newcomer shaken but not stirred!

Having been a journalist and a Navy Commander, Ian Fleming went on to great success with James Bond, writing twelve novels and nine short stories before his death in 1964. Additionally, Fleming also wrote children’s book Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and two non-fiction books The Diamond Smugglers and Thrilling Cities. Anthony Hern is a writer who is responsible for adapting the first James Bond novel Casino Royale to comic strip form. Henry Gammidge worked with artist John McLusky and together they both adapted eleven of Ian Fleming’s James Bond novels. John McLusky started his career as a Second World War artist for Bomber Command. Apart from his Bond adaptations he also worked on comic strips Look and Learn, Laurel & Hardy and the Pink Panther.
