Writer Peter O’Donnell is best known as the creator of Modesty Blaise but he was also a historical romance novelist with a total of nine novels credited under the pseudonym Madeleine Brent. Enric Badia Romero is a Spanish comic strip artist who is notable for not only completing the Modesty Blaise story The War-Lords of Phoenix after Jim Holdaway’s death but also carrying on as the strip’s artist until its end. Romero has worked for 2000 AD and is creator and artist on Axa. Romero’s work contributed to the legacy that is Modesty Blaise, a 1960s cultural and female icon that still inspires today.
